2nd Kings — 15

Uzzyahu Rules in Yahudah

Uzzyahu son of Amazyahu began to rule over Yahudah in the twenty-seventh year of the reign of King Yarubuam II of Yashar'AL. 

He was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Yahushalam fifty-two years. His mother was Yaculyahu from Yahushalam.

He did what was pleasing in the sight of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, just as his father, Amazyahu, had done. 

But he did not destroy the pagan shrines, and the people still offered sacrifices and burned incense there. 

Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH struck the king with leprosy, which lasted until the day he died, he lived in isolation in a separate house. The king’s son Yutham was put in charge of the royal palace, and he governed the people of the land.

When Uzzyahu died, he was buried with his ancestors in the City of Daud. And his son Yutham became the next king.

Zacharyahu Rules in Yashar'AL 

Zacharyahu son of Yarubuam II began to rule over Yashar'AL in the thirty-eighth year of King Uzzyahu’s reign in Yahudah, he reigned in Samaria six months. 

Zacharyahu did what was evil in the sight of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, as his ancestors had done, he refused to turn from the sins that Yarubuam son of Nabat had led Yashar'AL to commit. 

10 Then Shallum son of Yabash conspired against Zacharyahu, assassinated him in public, and became the next king.

11 The rest of the events in Zacharyahu’s reign are recorded in The Book of the History of the Kings of Yashar'AL. 

12 So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s message to Yahu came true: “Your descendants will be kings of Yashar'AL down to the fourth generation.”

Shallum Rules in Yashar'AL 

13 Shallum son of Yabash began to rule over Yashar'AL in the thirty-ninth year of King Uzzyahu’s reign in Yahudah. Shallum reigned in Samaria only one month. 

14 Then Manaham son of Gadi went to Samaria from Tirzah and assassinated him, and he became the next king.

15 The rest of the events in Shallum’s reign, including his conspiracy, are recorded in The Book of the History of the Kings of Yashar'AL.

Manaham Rules in Yashar'AL 

16 At that time Manaham destroyed the town of Tappuah and all the surrounding countryside as far as Tirzah, because its citizens refused to surrender the town, he killed the entire population and ripped open the pregnant women.

17 Manaham son of Gadi began to rule over Yashar'AL in the thirty-ninth year of King Uzzyahu’s reign in Yahudah, he reigned in Samaria ten years. 

18 But Manaham did what was evil in the sight of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. During his entire reign, he refused to turn from the sins that Yarubuam son of Nabat had led Yashar'AL to commit.

19 Then King Tiglath-pilasar of Assyria invaded the land. But Manaham paid him thirty-seven tons of silver to gain his support in tightening his grip on royal power. 

20 Manaham extorted the money from the rich of Yashar'AL, demanding that each of them pay fifty pieces of silver to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned from attacking Yashar'AL and did not stay in the land.

22 When Manaham died, his son Pakahyahu became the next king.

Pakahyahu Rules in Yashar'AL 

23 Pakahyahu son of Manaham began to rule over Yashar'AL in the fiftieth year of King Uzzyahu’s reign in Yahudah, he reigned in Samaria two years. 

24 But Pakahyahu did what was evil in the sight 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, he refused to turn from the sins that Yarubuam son of Nabat had led Yashar'AL to commit.

25 Then Pakah son of Ramalyahu, the commander of Pakahyahu’s army, conspired against him. With fifty men from Gilaad, Pakah assassinated the king, along with Argub and Aryahu, in the citadel of the palace at Samaria. And Pakah reigned in his place.

Pakah Rules in Yashar'AL 

27 Pakah son of Ramalyahu began to rule over Yashar'AL in the fifty-second year of King Uzzyahu’s reign in Yahudah, he reigned in Samaria twenty years. 

28 But Pakah did what was evil in the sight of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, he refused to turn from the sins that Yarubuam son of Nabat had led Yashar'AL to commit.

29 During Pakah’s reign, King Tiglath-pilasar of Assyria attacked Yashar'AL again, and he captured the towns of Iyun, Abal-bath-maacah, Yanuah, Kadash, and Hazur, he also conquered the regions of Gilaad, Galily, and all of Naphtali, and he took the people to Assyria as captives. 

30 Then Husha son of Alah conspired against Pakah and assassinated him, he began to rule over Yashar'AL in the twentieth year of Yutham son of Uzzyahu.

Yutham Rules in Yahudah

32 Yutham son of Uzzyahu began to rule over Yahudah in the second year of King Pakah’s reign in Yashar'AL. 

33 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Yahushalam sixteen years, his mother was Yarusha, the daughter of Zaduk.

34 Yutham did what was pleasing in the sight of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, he did everything his father, Uzzyahu, had done. 

35 But he did not destroy the pagan shrines, and the people still offered sacrifices and burned incense there, he rebuilt the upper gate of the Temple of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.

36 The rest of the events in Yutham’s reign and everything he did are recorded in The Book of the History of the Kings of Yahudah. 

37 In those days 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH began to send King Razin of Aram and King Pakah of Yashar'AL to attack Yahudah. 

38 When Yutham died, he was buried with his ancestors in the City of Daud. And his son Ahaz became the next king.
