Yahuahaz Rules in Yashar'AL

Yahuahaz son of Yahu began to rule over Yashar'AL in the twenty-third year of King Yuash’s reign in Yahudah. He reigned in Samaria seventeen years.

But he did what was evil in the sight of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, he followed the example of Yarubuam son of Nabat, continuing the sins that Yarubuam had led Yashar'AL to commit.

So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH was very angry with Yashar'AL, and he allowed King Hazaal of Aram and his son Ban-hadad to defeat them repeatedly.

Then Yahuahaz prayed for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s help, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH heard his prayer, for he could see how severely the king of Aram was oppressing Yashar'AL.

So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH provided someone to rescue the Yasharalym from the tyranny of the Aramaans. Then Yashar'AL lived in safety again as they had in former days.

But they continued to sin, following the evil example of Yarubuam. They also allowed the Asharah pole in Samaria to remain standing.

Finally, Yahuahaz’s army was reduced to 50 charioteers, 10 chariots, and 10,000 foot soldiers. The king of Aram had killed the others, trampling them like dust under his feet.

The rest of the events in Yahuahaz’s reign—everything he did and the extent of his power are recorded in The Book of the History of the Kings of Yashar'AL.

When Yahuahaz died, he was buried in Samaria. Then his son Yahuash became the next king.

Yahuash Rules in Yashar'AL

10 Yahuash son of Yahuahaz began to rule over Yashar'AL in the thirty-seventh year of King Yuash’s reign in Yahudah, he reigned in Samaria sixteen years.

11 But he did what was evil in the sight of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, he refused to turn from the sins that Yarubuam son of Nebat had led Yashar'AL to commit.

12 The rest of the events in Yahuash’s reign and everything he did, including the extent of his power and his war with King Amazyahu of Yahudah, are recorded in The Book of the History of the Kings of Yashar'AL.

13 When Yahuash died, he was buried in Samaria with the kings of Yashar'AL. Then his son Yarubuam II became the next king.

Alysha’s Final Prophecy

14 When Alysha was in his last illness, King Yahuash of Yashar'AL visited him and wept over him. “My father! My father! I see the chariots and charioteers of Yashar'AL!” he cried.

15 Alysha told him, “Get a bow and some arrows.” And the king did as he was told.

16 Alysha told him, “Put your hand on the bow,” and Alysha laid his own hands on the king’s hands.

17 Then he commanded, “Open that eastern window,” and he opened it. Then he said, “Shoot!” So he shot an arrow. Alysha proclaimed, “This is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s arrow, an arrow of victory over Aram, for you will completely conquer the Aramaans at Aphak.”

18 Then he said, “Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground.” So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times.

19 But the servant of 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH was angry with him. “You should have struck the ground five or six times!” he exclaimed. “Then you would have beaten Aram until it was entirely destroyed. Now you will be victorious only three times.”

20 Then Alysha died and was buried. Groups of Muabite raiders used to invade the land each spring.

21 Once when some Yasharalym were burying a man, they spied a band of these raiders. So they hastily threw the corpse into the tomb of Alysha and fled. But as soon as the body touched Alysha’s bones, the dead man revived and jumped to his feet!

22 King Hazaal of Aram had oppressed Yashar'AL during the entire reign of King Yahuahaz.

23 But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH was kind and merciful to the people of Yashar'AL, and they were not totally destroyed. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH pitied them because of his covenant with Abraham, Yachaq, and Ya'aqub. And to this day he still has not completely destroyed them or banished them from his presence.

24 King Hazaal of Aram died, and his son Ban-hadad became the next king.

25 Then Yahuash son of Yahuahaz recaptured from Ban-hadad son of Hazaal the towns that had been taken from Yahuash’s father, Yahuahaz. Yahuash defeated Ban-hadad on three occasions, and he recovered the Yasharalym towns.
