Ma'ashym (Acts) — 13

Barnabas and Shaul Are Commissioned

Among the Nabyms and teachers of the Qadash ones at Antiuch of Syria were Barnabas, Simaun (also called “the black man”), Lucius (from Cyrana), Manaan (the childhood companion of King Harud Antipas), and Shaul.
One day as these men were worshiping 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH and fasting, the RUACH Ha'Qadash said, “Dedicate Barnabas and Shaul for the special work to which I have called them.”
So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.

Shaul’s First Missionary Journey

So Barnabas and Shaul were sent out by the RUACH Ha'Qadash. They went down to the seaport of Salaucia and then sailed for the island of Cyprus.
There, in the town of Salamis, they went to the Yahudym congregation and preached the Dabar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. Yunah Mark went with them as their assistant.
Afterward they traveled from town to town across the entire island until finally they reached Paphus, where they met a Yahudym sorcerer, a false Nabym named Bar-Yasu.
He had attached himself to the governor, Sergius Palus, who was an intelligent man. The governor invited Barnabas and Shaul to visit him, for he wanted to hear the Dabar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
But Alymas, the sorcerer (as his name means in Greek), interfered and urged the governor to pay no attention to what Barnabas and Shaul said, he was trying to keep the governor from believing.
Shaul was filled with the RUACH Ha'Qadash, and Shaul looked the sorcerer in the eye.
Then Shaul said, “You son of ha'shatan, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH?
Watch now, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH has laid his hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.” Instantly mist and darkness came over the evil man’s eyes, and he began groping around begging for someone to take his hand and lead him.
When the governor saw what had happened, he became a believer, for he was astonished at the teaching about 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.

Shaul Preaches in Antiuch of Pisidia

Shaul and his companions then left Paphus by ship for Pamphylia, landing at the port town of Perga. There Yunah Mark left them and returned to Yahushalam.
But Shaul and Barnabas traveled inland to Antiuch of Pisidia. On the Shabbat they went to the congregation for the services.
After the usual readings from the books of Musha and the Nabyms, those in charge of the service sent them this message: “ Achk (Brothers), if you have any word of encouragement for the people, come and give it.”
So Shaul stood, lifted his hand to quiet them, and started speaking. “Men of Yashar'AL,” he said, “and you who fear 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH from other nations, listen to me.
“The 𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH of the nation of Yashar'AL chose our fathers and made them multiply and grow strong during their stay in Mitzraym. Then with a powerful arm 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH led them out of their slavery.
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH put up with them through forty years of wandering in the wilderness.
Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH destroyed seven nations in Canaan and gave their land to Yashar'AL as an inheritance.
“After that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH gave  them judges for about four hundred and fifty years, until Shamual the Nabym.
And afterward they asked for a king; so 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH gave them Shaul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Banyamin, for forty years.
But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH removed Shaul from being king and replaced him with Daud, a man about whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH said, ‘I have found Daud son of Yassa, a man after my own heart. Daud will do everything I want him to do.’
“And it is one of King Daud’s descendants, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA who is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s promised Savior for Yashar'AL!
Before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA came, Yahukanun the Baptist preached that all the people of Yashar'AL needed to repent of their sins and turn to  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH and be baptized.
As Yahukanun was finishing his ministry he asked, ‘Do you think I am Ha'Mashyach? No, I am not! But He is coming soon and I am not even worthy to be His slave and untie the sandals on his feet.’
“Achks (Brothers) you sons of Abraham, and also you who fear  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH from other nations, this message of salvation has been sent to us!
The people in Yahushalam and their leaders did not recognize  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA as the one the Nabyms had spoken about. Instead, they condemned 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, and in doing this they fulfilled the Nabyms’ words that are read every Shabbat.
They found no legal reason to execute 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, but they asked Pilate to have him killed anyway.
“When they had done all that the prophecies said about  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, they took Him down from the execution stake and placed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA in a tomb.
But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH raised  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA from the dead!
And over a period of many days 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA appeared to those who had gone with Him from Galily to Yahushalam. They are now 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA‘s witnesses to the people of Yashar'AL.
“And now we are here to bring you this Good News. The promise was made to our fathers,
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH has now fulfilled it for us, their descendants, by raising 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA. This is what the second tahalym (psalm) says about 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA: ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your ABBA.’
For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH had promised to raise 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA from the dead, not leaving 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA to rot in the grave. For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH said, ‘I will give you the Qadash Barakah I promised to Daud.’
Another tahalym (psalm) explains it more fully: ‘You will not allow your Qadash One to rot in the grave.’
This is not a reference to Daud, for after Daud had done the will of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors, and his body decayed.
No, it was a reference to someone else, someone whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH raised and whose body did not decay.
“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA there is forgiveness for your sins.
Everyone who believes in  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA is declared right with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH, something the law of Musha could never do.
Be careful! Do not let the Nabyms’ words apply to you. For they said,
‘Look, you mockers, be amazed and die! For I am doing something in your own day, something you would not believe even if someone told you about it.’”
As Shaul and Barnabas left the congregation that Shabbat day, the people begged them to speak about these things again the next week Shabbat.
Many devoted Yahudym followed Shaul and Barnabas, and they urged the new believers to continue to rely on the favor of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.

Shaul Turns to the other nations

The following week Shabbat almost the entire city turned out to hear them preach the Dabar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
But when some of the Yahudym saw the crowds, they were jealous; so they slandered Shaul and argued against whatever he said.
Then Shaul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and declared, “It was necessary that we first preach the Dabar of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH to you Yahudym. But since you have rejected it and judged yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we will offer it to the other nations.
For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH gave us this command when he said, ‘I have made you a light to the other nations, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the Arath.’”
When the other nations heard this, they were very glad and gave Tudah to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH for His message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers.
So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s message spread throughout that region.
Then the Yahudym stirred up the influential religious women and the leaders of the city, and they incited a mob against Shaul and Barnabas and expelled them out of the region.
So they shook the dust from their feet as a sign of rejection and went to the town of Icunium.
And the believers were filled with joy and with the RUACH Ha'Qadash.
