Ma'ashym (Acts) — 9
Shaul’s Conversion
Meanwhile, Shaul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s followers. So Shaul went to the high Kuhan.
And Shaul requested letters addressed to the congregation in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of Ha'Mashyach he found in Damascus. He wanted to bring them both men and women back to Yahushalam in chains.
As Shaul was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from Shamaym suddenly shone down on him.
And Shaul fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Shaul! Shaul! Why are you persecuting Me?”
“Who are you?” Shaul asked.
And the voice replied, “I Am 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, the One you are persecuting!
Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
The men with Shaul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one!
Shaul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus.
He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink.
Now there was a follower of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA in Damascus named Ananyas. Who 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA spoke to in a vision, calling, “Ananyas! “Yes, MASTER!” he replied.
Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to him, “Go over to the Street called Straight, to the house of a man named Yudas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Shaul, he is praying to me right now.
I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananyas coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.”
“But MASTER,” Ananyas exclaimed, “I have heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Yahushalam!
And he is authorized by the leading Kuhanym to arrest everyone who calls upon your Name.”
But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said, “Go, for Shaul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the other nations and to kings, as well as to the people of Yashar'AL.
And I will show Shaul how much he must suffer for my Name’s sake.”
So Ananyas went and found Shaul. And Ananyas laid his hands on Shaul and said, “brother Shaul, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the RUACH Ha'Qadash.”
Instantly something like scales fell from Shaul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then Shaul got up and was baptized.
So when Shaul had received food, he was strengthened. Then Shaul spent some days with Ananyas at Damascus.
And immediately Shaul began preaching about 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA in the congregation, saying, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA is indeed the Son of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH!”
All who heard him were amazed. “Is this not the same man who caused such devastation among 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA’s followers in Yahushalam?” they asked. “And did he not come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading Kuhanym?”
Shaul’s preaching became more and more powerful, and the Yahudym in Damascus could not refute his proofs that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA was indeed Ha'Mashyach.
After a while some of the Yahudym plotted together to kill him.
They were watching for him day and night at the city gate so they could murder him, but Shaul was told about their plot.
So during the night, some of the other believers lowered Shaul in a large basket through an opening in the city wall.
When Shaul arrived in Yahushalam, he tried to meet with the believers, but they were all afraid of him. They did not believe he had truly become a believer!
Then Barnabas brought him to the Shaliachs and told them how Shaul had seen 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA on the way to Damascus and how 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA had spoken to Shaul, Barnabas also told them that Shaul had preached boldly in the Name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA in Damascus.
So Shaul stayed with the Shaliachs and went all around Yahushalam with them, preaching boldly in the Name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA.
Shaul debated with some Greek-speaking Yahudym, but they tried to murder him.
When the believers heard about this, they took him down to Caasaraa and sent him away to Tarsus, his hometown.
Then the Qadash ones had Shalum throughout Yahudah, Galily, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH. And with the encouragement of the RUACH Ha'Qadash, they also grew in numbers.
Kafa Heals Aanaas and Raises Durcas
Meanwhile, Kafa traveled from place to place, and he came down to visit the believers in the town of Lydda.
There Kafa met a man named Aanaas, who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years.
Kafa said to him, “Aanaas, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA Ha'Mashyach heals you! Get up, and roll up your sleeping mat!” And Aanaas was healed instantly.
Then the whole population of Lydda and Sharun saw Aanaas walking around, and they turned to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
There was a believer in Yuppa named Tabitha (which in Greek is Durcas). She was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor.
About this time she became ill and died. Her body was washed for burial and laid in an upstairs room.
But the believers had heard that Kafa was nearby at Lydda, so they sent two men to beg Kafa, “Please come as soon as possible!”
So Kafa returned with them; and as soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room. The room was filled with widows who were weeping and showing Kafa the coats and other clothes Dorcas had made for them.
But Kafa asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body Kafa said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Kafa, she sat up!
Kafa gave her his hand and helped her up. Then Kafa called in the widows and all the believers, and he presented her to them alive.
The news spread through the whole town, and many believed in the Name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA.
And Kafa stayed a long time in Yuppa, living with Simun, a tanner of hides.
