Yubalym (Jubilee) — 47

And in the seventh week, in the seventh year, in the forty seventh Yubalym, Musha's father went forth from the land of Kana'an, and Musha were born in the fourth week in the sixth year thereof, in the forty eighth Yubalym; this was the time of tribulation on the children of Yashar'AL.

And Phar'uh, king of Mitzraym, issued a command regarding them that they should cast all their male children which were born into the river.

And they cast them in for seven months until the day that Musha was born.

And Musha's mother hid him for three months and they told regarding her. And she made an ark for Musha, and covered it with pitch and asphalt, and placed it in the reeds on the bank of the river and she placed Musha in it seven days, and Musha's mother came by night and suckled him and by day Miryam, Musha's sister, guarded him from the birds.

And in those days Tharmuth, the daughter of Phar'uh, came to bathe in the river and she heard Musha's voice crying, and she told her maidens to bring Musha forth, and they brought him unto her.

And she took Musha out of the ark, and she had compassion on Musha.

And Musha's sister said unto her: Shall I go and call unto you one of the Abarym (Hebrew) women to nurse and suckle this babe for you?

And she said unto her: Go. And she went and called Musha's mother Yukabad and she gave her wages, and she nursed Musha.

And afterwards, when Musha has grown up, they brought him to the daughter of Phar'uh, and Musha did become her son, and Amram Musha's father taught him writing, and after he had completed three weeks, they brought Musha into the royal court.

And Musha was three weeks of years at court until the time when he did go forth from the royal court and did see a Mitzraym smiting his friend who was of the children of Yashar'AL and Musha did slay him and hide him in the sand.

And on the second day Musha saw two of the children of Yashar'AL striving together, and he did say to him who was doing the wrong: Why do you smite your brother?

And the Yasharalym man was angry and indignant and said: Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Think you to kill me as you killed the Mitzraym yesterday? And Musha got afraid and flee on account of these words.
