Barashyt(Genesis) — 14
And it came to pass in the days of Amraphal king of Shinar, Ariuch king of Allasar, Chadurlaumar king of Alam, and Tidal king of nations,
that they made war with Bara king of Sudum, Birsha king of Gumurrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shamamabar king of Zabuim, and the king of Bala (that is, Zuar).
All these joined together in the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea).
Twelve years they served Chadurlaumar, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
In the fourteenth year Chadurlaumar and the kings that were with him came and attacked the Raphaim in Ashtaruth Karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, the Amim in Shaba Kiriathaim,
and the Hurites in their mountain of Seir, as far as Al Paran, which is by the wilderness.
Then they turned back and came to An Mishpat (that is, Kadash), and attacked all the country of the Amalakites, and also the Amurites who dwelt in Hazazun Tamar.
And the king of Sudum, the king of Gumurrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zabuiim, and the king of Bala (that is, Zuar) went out and joined together in battle in the Valley of Siddim
against Chadurlaumar king of Alam, Tidal king of nations, Amraphal king of Shinar, and Ariuch king of Allasar, four kings against five.
Now the Valley of Siddim was full of asphalt pits; and the kings of Sudum and Gumurrah fled; some fell there, and the remainder fled to the mountains.
Then they took all the goods of Sudum and Gumurrah, and all their provisions, and went their way.
They also took Lut, Abram’s brother’s son who dwelt in Sudum, and his goods, and departed.
Then one who had escaped came and told Abram the Abryt (Hebrew), for he dwelt by the tarabinth trees of Mamrela the Amyrite, brother of Ashcul and brother of Anar; and they were allies with Abram.
Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.
Abram divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hubah, which is north of Damascus.
So Abram brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother's son Lut and his goods, as well as the women and the people.
And the king of Sudum went out to meet Abram at the Valley of Shaba (that is, the King’s Valley), after his return from the defeat of Chadurlaumar and the kings who were with him.
Then Mal'kizadak king of Shalam brought out bread and wine; he was the Kuhan of AL'ALYUN (𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄_ALUAH the Most High).
Mal'kizadak Barak Abram and said, Barak be Abram of AL'ALYUN, Maker of Shamaym and Arath;
And Barak be AL'ALYUN, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And Abram gave Mal'kizadak a tithe of all he got from rescuing Lut his brother's son.
Now the king of Sudum said to Abram, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.”
But Abram said to the king of Sudum, “I have raised my hand to AL'ALYUN, (𐤀𐤋𐤅𐤄 ALUAH Most High), the Maker of Shamaym and Arath (earth),
that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’
except only what the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Anar, Ashcul, and Mamra; let them take their portion.”
