MattatYahu (Matthew) — 16

Leaders Demand a Miraculous Sign

1 One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA, demanding that he show them a miraculous sign from Shamaym to prove His authority.
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA replied, “You know the saying, ‘Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow;
red sky in the morning means foul weather all day.’ You know how to interpret the weather signs in the sky, but you do not know how to interpret the signs of the times!
Only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign, but the only sign I will give them is the sign of the Nabym Yunah. Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA  left them and went away.

Yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees

Later, after they crossed to the other side of the lake, the Talmidym discovered they had forgotten to bring any bread.
And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA warned them.  “Watch out! “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
At this they began to argue with each other because they had not brought any bread.
For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA knew what they were saying, so He said, “You have so little Amunah! Why are you arguing with each other about having no bread?
Do you not understand even yet? Do you not remember the five thousand I fed with five loaves, and the baskets of leftovers you picked up?
10 Or the four thousand I fed with seven loaves, and the large baskets of leftovers you picked up?
11 Why can you not understand that I Am not talking about bread? So again I say, ‘Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.’”
12 Then at last they understood that He was not speaking about the yeast in bread, but about the deceptive teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Kafa’s Declaration about YAHUSHA

13 When 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked his Talmidym, “Who do people say that the Son of Adam is?”
14 “Well,” they replied, “some say Yahukanun the Baptist, some say AliYahu, and others say Yaramyahu or one of the other Nabym.”
15 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA asked them,  “But who do you say I Am?”
16 Simun Kafa answered, “You are Ha'Mashyach, the Son of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH.
17 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA replied, “You are baraked Simun Ba-Yunah, because my ABBA in Shamaym has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any man.
18 Now I say to you that you are Kafa (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my Qadash Assembly, and all the powers of evil can not conquer it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Shamaym. Whatever you forbid on the Arath will be forbidden in Shamaym, and whatever you permit on Arath will be permitted in Shamaym.”
20 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA sternly warned the Talmidym not to tell anyone that He is Ha'Mashyach.

YAHUSHA Predicts His Death

21 From then on 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA  began to tell his Talmidym plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Yahushalam, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading Kuhanym, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day He would be raised from the dead.
22 But Kafa took him aside and began to reprimand him for saying such things. “Shamaym forbid, Master,” Kafa said. “This will never happen to you!”
23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA turned to Kafa and said, “Get away from me, Ha'shatan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a man's point of view, not from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄_YAHUAH’s.”
24 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏_YAHUSHA said to his Talmidym, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your death stake, and follow me.
25 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
26 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
27 For the Son of Adam will come with his Malakym in the Kabad of his ABBA and will judge all people according to their deeds.
28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the Son of Adam coming in His kingdom.”
